When to Come In for a 1:1 Session

Sometimes, you need more than a screen

Online sessions cover a lot. But there are moments where hands-on assessment makes a real difference. Here's when I'd recommend coming in — and when online is completely sufficient.

You need a hands-on diagnosis

If your pain is unclear, complex, or hasn't responded to initial management — a physical assessment helps rule things out properly.

Post-surgery clearance & assessment

After ACL reconstruction or other procedures, a proper physical review confirms readiness before returning to loading.

Postpartum movement & core assessment

If you have postpartum complications, it's important to get clearance from a pelvic health therapist first — I'd recommend Calyx Physio before booking with me. A 1:1 session is great if you're unsure how to properly engage your deep abdominal core, or if you're experiencing knee or back pain related to movement and exercise postpartum — these are common and absolutely something we can work through together.

For athletes wanting a full movement audit before a competition season or new training block — in-person is more thorough.

Everything else? Online works.

Exercise prescription, pain management advice, programme adjustments, and coaching check-ins are all highly effective online.
